Competition
Gung Fu Institute | Grandmaster Gallaher
Competition is for individuals who want to showcase their skills. This could be in the weapons field, whether it be swords, nun chucks, knives, etc., or from the full contact aspect. In order to compete you need to be involved in the Fight Club and have a minimum of three nights a week in either Jeet Kune Do or Wing Chun. There is no way you can achieve excellence in martial arts and win in the competition world if you don’t put in the proper hours of training.
Competition can be in-school, competing against fellow students, or on a local level competing against other martial artists in the area. If you can win at a local level you can move into the state level where the competition becomes more difficult and the competitors are at a higher caliber. The next stage is nationals where you will meet the top competitors in the world. In this area the competitions are often televised which could launch a career in a UFC type arena, MMA motion pictures, or television. If you have a competitive spirit, join the competition team.
