the Wing Chun art form but has 3 years experience as a Jeet Kune Do student as
well. He is a passionate about our art(s), beliefs, values and our school
mission to help each member become the absolute best they can be. This comes
across in his ability to both lead and, at the same time, simply be a hard
working fellow Gung Fu brother as well. Jay is proud of our exceptional
heritage and exhibits strong technical knowledge as well as the creative
abilities to apply that knowledge. Jay is a brown sash Wing Chun
practitioner and level 4 Jeet Kune Do practitioner. Jay and his wife
Naomi have lived in the Ft. Myers area for many years.
Gary Levenson
Gary Levenson has 3 years experience in Jeet Kune Do, 3 years experience in Wing Chun and 2 years experience in Kali. In addition, Gary takes weekly private lessons with Sifu in order to learn the arts in greater detail. Gary’s academic background makes him an excellent communicator. He is able to tailor his teaching to suit the age and experience of the student so they can start with the basics of Jeet Kune Do and progress to the development of power lines derived from their Wing Chun origins. Gary’s hobbies include competitive powerlifting and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Jason Martin
Senior student and instructor, Jason Martin is devoted to the school and his training with Sifu.
He continued to progress in the discipline even during his service in the U.S. Army, by maximizing private instruction when home on leave. The combination of combat experience and private devotion to eastern philosophy gives Jason a calm demeanor with his students. In addition to teaching a class of adult beginners, he assists with the children’s program several times a week.
Jason is a long-time resident of Fort Myers, graduating in 1998 from Cypress Lake High School. He returned from Germany after his discharge from the military to pursue a career in private security while continuing his training at the Gung Fu Institute. Jason currently lives in Cape Coral with his wife Patricia Warren.

Rick Montgomery has been a friend and private student of Sifu Gallaher since 2002. He has received instruction from Sifu Gallaher in Jeet Kune Do, Wing Chun, and Kali. In November 2006, he and several other students accompanied Sifu Gallaher to Hong Kong to receive instruction from two Wing Chun Grand Masters. In May 2008, he received his apprentice instructorship in Jeet Kune Do. He now runs a satellite training group in Statesboro, Georgia and regularly visits Sifu at the school in Fort Myers.
Michael Smith
My name is Michael and I am 23 years old. I have been doing martial arts since I was 5 years old. I took karate for 2 years, and afterwards I trained in Tae kwon Do for 3 years. I started Jeet Kune Do in late 1999 at the age of 15. I found it to be better than the prior martial arts I was taking and I knew that it was something I wanted to pursue untill completion. While going to school at Fort Myers High, I did several demonstrations with Sifu Gallaher at the high school and also several in Naples. I went to college in Gainesville from 2006-2009, and while I was gone I looked for other martial arts schools I could train at but, I could not find anything that had come close to what I was learning here at the Gung Fu Institute. I returned to the Gung Fu Institute in April of 2009, and since my return I have been in the instructorship program and have been helping out in the kids classes. My major at the Gung Fu institute is Jeet Kune Do and I minor in Wing Chung and Kali. My goals are to complete all course studies and the instructorship program offered here at the Gung Fu Institute, so that one day I can teach others what I believe to be is the most complete form of martial arts.
Patricia Warren
Patricia Warren moved to Florida in February 2008 with her husband Jason Martin. She is originally from Seattle, WA where she met and married Jason before he was sent overseas. Patricia has supported her husband for many years with his martial arts training and has been taking classes and helping with the Little Dragons since settling in the Cape Coral area. She enjoys working at a veterinary hospital and spending time with her family and friends.
