This stretching course will give you a solid understanding of the importance of connecting the mind with the body. The total progression of the movements will at times be challenging as you work through the positions. Isolating different muscle groups will add flexibility and power to your body. You will begin to find an inner strength, a strength that you might not have tapped into prior to power stretching, or yayso yoga. As you grow in the movements you'll worry less about balance because you will have achieved balance of the body. It is difficult for you to advance to the next level if you're constantly worried about your balance. Once you achieve balance and toppling over is no longer an issue, you will begin to balance the mind with the body, putting them in unity.

As you progress you will connect the breath with the movements, which is the foundation of yayso yoga. I often ask my students how long can you live without food? How long can you live without water? Then I ask them how long can you live without air? It's pretty obvious how important breathing is to us. I find most people especially those in a stressful environment have difficulties with their breathing. As you begin to stretch you'll find a meditative and euphoric state develop comparable to a runner's high. Combined with lessons on the importance of proper breathing techniques you will begin to achieve flexibility and relaxation, while you strengthen and tone your body.

In this course you will also learn many Chi gong movements to strengthen the mind and cultivate Chi. Acupuncture, acupressure, as well as the martial arts practice of Dim Mak follow the energy meridians of the body. Our bodies have electrical current flowing through it. Meridians are a road map detailing the energy lines and points of the body. Personal stress is a form of pollution that has a negative effect on your well-being. Our program will help remove stress from your body allowing you to live abundantly. I have been a martial artist most of my life, and I've had the luxury to train all over the world. Because of this world class training I have been able to merge many different types of stretching techniques, which is what makes our program so unique. My main goal and focus is to help people wake up from their slumber and tune into God's wonderful blessings. These movements will help you shut down the noise of the world and release you from the destructive egos that we all possess. The goal is health and life, so don't be worried about mysticism. I am personally God-centered, not religion-centered.

Sometimes I give an encouraging word to help lift you up during your practice. Positive affirmation induces a state of well-being (positive energy).The opposite of positive affirmation is negative affirmation which is the nemesis of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control. Negative talk, whether it be self-negative talk or others talking negative towards you, never promotes life. I love to motivate and stimulate people to live a life worth living.

Stretching is a vital component of martial arts and has coexisted with the martial aspects from the beginning. I have been teaching the concepts and principles of body mechanics and dynamic stretching for more than 25 years. You do not have to be a Gung Fu Institute practitioner to take part in our yayso yoga stretching classes. Although the classes have grown, we still provide a personal touch. If you have any medical conditions or special needs we will work with you so you can achieve the benefits of our power stretching. One of our school's main themes is holistic living, so you will also hear about the benefits of alternative approaches to good health.
